Here is the minor league report for the 2010 Albuquerque Isotopes, the Triple-A affiliate for the Los Angeles Dodger.
The key name to note on the roster is pitcher Scott Elbert. Elbert has a 3.27 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in the minor leagues. He has had two tours of duty with the Dodgers already, but the problems with control from the minor leagues carried over. He has a 3.9 walks per nine in the major leagues and an even higher number of 4.8 in the minor leagues. He has piled up strikeouts with a 10+ strikeout rate per nine, but until he gets much better control, he is going to be of no value for fantasy purposes.
Another name to keep an eye on is infielder Ivan DeJesus Jr. With top prospect Dee Gordon moving up the ladder at shortstop, the Dodgers have moved DeJesus to 2B to start the season. He has a .295 minor league average with good command of the strike zone. He has shown modest power with seven home runs last year to go along with 16 stolen bases.
How they rank:
Baseball America: Lindbloom (5), Elbert (6), DeJesus (8)
Keith Law: Elbert (5)
John Sickels: Lindbloom (5), Elbert (6), DeJesus (9)
