Here is the minor league report for the 2010 Colorado Springs Sky Sox, the Triple-A affiliate for the Colorado Rockies.
The key name to note on the roster is pitcher Jhoulys Chacin. Just 22-years-old, he made it through three levels last season finishing in the major leagues, although he pitched in relief to help the bullpen when he arrived. He has a minor league ERA of 2.65 with a 1.14 WHIP. He had control issues in his short stint in Triple-A as well as the major leagues so he will need to cut down on his walks before he is ready for the major leagues.
Another name to keep an eye on is second basemen Eric Young Jr. Young has a .291 minor league batting average and has stolen 46+ bases in each of the last four seasons. He should be ready to take over second base full-time in 2011 and hit first in the batting order.
How they rank:
Baseball America: Chacin (4), Young Jr. (6)
Keith Law: Chacin (3), Nelson (10)
John Sickels: Chacin (3), Young Jr. (8), Deduno (10)
